entertaining my baby

Hi

I have a 3 month old, and I was just wondering what other mums do to entertain their babies...

Matilda gets a bit of belly time whenever possible, I go out for walks every day, and I am always holding her to let her stand up or sit up. I also put her in a baby bouncer - she doesnt bouce, but she enjoys hanging out in it. I sit her and talk to her and give her as much attention as possible, but there are times when I need to walk away and get on with something else. She is too young to hold or play with toys, and I have found myself falling into the trap of leaving her in her rocker watching the tv. She is facinated by it and I figured she cant be absorbing anything bad from it yet (can she?)

So I was just wondering what everyone else does to entertain their babies while they eat/shower/dress/write on internet forums?

hey becca, if your wee one is happy chilling in her bouncer, thats cool. My little boy had to held constantly. Dont feel bad about leaving her in front of tv. If you have satellite try out channel 623, baby tv. I found it and my wee man loves it. Another thing you could try is a playmat with hanging toys. Take care. x

with my little girl i am guilty of doing that but for short spells like couple of mins while i reloaded the washer or whatever up to her bad health spell but we also had a light up musical toythat i used.it was a little carousel that played music as it spun round.gaveme a couple of mins to run and do whatever.she had little teddies on a arch that attached to her bouncer aswell which she would kick at and made her smile.
hope that helps

Hi becca
My little girl is 14 weeks now, I have a fisherprice swing which she like, I put her infront of the tv with the music channel on shes happy watching it and I dont feel thats a bad thing.Ive also got a jumparoo, have to put a pillow under though coz her feet dont touch the ground yet, shes happy in there for half n hour.I also lie her on the floor nappy free which she loves.like you shes too young to hold toys yet but seems happy with the things I do with her now.I get to do bits and pieces when shes in the swing and when she has her naps xx

Hi becca, dont worry! my lil one is fascinated by the tv too and i have to use it sometimes to get on with what i need to do too. Its good to allow babies to try and entertain themselves as they do learn alot on their own. I often pop my girl into her cot to play with her mobile for 20mins or so while i shower etc. have fun!
