Working mums & going back to workgoing back to work :(
hi
i go back 2 work in 2 weeks & dreading the thought of it. my partner has suggested he give up work but i dont no how 2 find out how this would work financially
We knew it was the best thing for us for me to work and my husband to stay home as I can earn a lot more than he can. I suppose you need to look at how much you could both earn and see who could earn the most. Then you need to decide if childcare would cost more than what you're partner could earn and how much better off you are if he satys at home or works. There is also tax credits to take into account, try the tax credits calculator at www.taxcredits.inlandrevenue.gov.uk. Hope that helps
