Working mums & going back to workFinding a job
Hello everyone. I have been out of work for 3 years, I am 17 weeks pregnant and we're due 16th June. My partner works full time atm but his hours might go down to 16 soon but there isn't a guarantee on that yet, we're claiming tax credits but if he goes down to 16 hours our credits will stop. I would like to find a job but I don't think i'm gonna have any luck, I hardly had any luck before we found out I was pregnant and i'm thinking the same now. I dont really think i would get to the interview stage but if i did i dont think i would pass it. Im basically just looking for some advice please
it is about interview technique then i think perhaps the job centres can help out with that?
an employer cannot refuse to employ you just because you are pregnant so you should still apply for jobs if you want to
Hi, I'm also unemployed since I lost my job in the recession back in August! I'm pregnant with my third and scared about the money part. I've been applying for jobs left right and centre and had an interview on Sat just gone which I should find out about today, so fingers crossed! There are lots of interview tips online, including YouTube which are very helpful. Good luck!
I feel like a massive black cloud is over me I'm in no other words to describe but [censored] myself I've worked since I left school and then lost my job due to ill health so I'm looking for jobs and I'm claiming JSA _106 every 2 weeks then accordingly I'm entitled to income support 11 weeks before bambino ? No idea about this like how mug much I'll get and then of course maternity allowance which is roughly 90% of gross average earnings or_128 odd a week which ever smaller . Baring in mind I'm looking for somewhere to live with my partner who works or worked full time then lost his job just before new yrs eve so we are the definition of skint! How are people coping I know that I am goig to be eligible to get some of my rent if not all paid which is a god send but other income wise like to pay for bills what happens there ? OH is looking for every job going and applying for everything he's never been out of work and without his income we're up [censored] street without a paddle . Anyone have any advice for me at all? Sorry for the speech and slight cursing but I am needless to say petrefied
Natalie first time mum no clue at all 24 +2 xx
Livi's mummy - its not about interview techniques its about the fact i have been out of work for such a long time, an employer can make any excuse they want when turning you down for a job they don't have to tell you their reason. My question is..is it still worth looking for work? most people i know and people i have spoken to was in their jobs before they got pregnant so their employer can't say they're fired cos they're pregnant. I want to work but dont think i have a chance really
