Mmmmmm that sound a tiny bit early for weaning,,,,however I weaned my one early, at 15 weeks to be precise ! I puree all kinds of veg for my LO,,but I don't add any milk, I steam my veg and just put some juice back in,,,,,and he is fine, he loves it ! I started him on baby rice which of course was made using his formula, so not really sure if you need to add milk to the veg,I didn't !!
Not sure whether any other mums add milk,,,,,,that's just what I do,,hope that helps !

i m weaning my little one know hes 2mnths and 3 wks old i give him baby rice i
and he loves it . i add his own milk in his baby rice , i wnt to start givig him other things but i dnt no if hes to young!!!xxxxxxx

Agreed with Chelle, wait for the 4 month mark, my sister in law weaned very early and I didnt agree with it, mentioned to my HV, who told me problems could occur later in life with digestive system etc.
I would give a more satisfying milk i.e stage 2.

HI i made all my own baby food and did add formula to cook them in made the veg alot creamer and the fruit was lovely, also i knew they were getting that extra bit of milk. Just literally cooked the veg/ fruit in formula milk, then pureed them up. I would freeze them in ice cube trays and pop them out when needed. There is nothing wrong with freezing food with milk in was told this by h.v and am on my third baby.
Still seems a bit young to wean yet would hold off as long as poss x

hiya my little one is 23 wks an on advise frm a pedeatrician i gt told to wean her at 14 wks so it cnt do that mch harm ..i also av 2 boys who i weaned at 8 an 10 wks coz they were always hungry they are 10 an 6 now and suffer no prblems at all..i didnt wnt to wean earl bt sumtimes u av to follow ur baby they are all different as i learnt ..gd luck ..xx

Hi, I'm also a bit confused about weaning.. My little girl is 14 weeks on thursday, but my gp advised me to start weaning already...? i dont know whether its too early, but she has 6 or 7 oz bottles every 3 to 4 hours, and she starts chewing her fists as soon as she has finished(she is on sma white - for hungrier babies). I dont know what to do, as my mother in law says its too early, but i dont want to ignore my gp! please help!

hi there im confused about weaning everybody keeps giving me different advice, my son is 16 weeks and has been showing classic signs of weaning but ive put him on stage 2 milk as didnt want to wean early but my health visitor said to give baby rice but my gp said not to!!! he dosent really seem any different on stage 2 milk but ive only just changed it does it take time or should it make a difference right away?

kelandwaz - yes your baby is too young for anything more than baby rice, to be honest he is too young even for baby rice. their stomachs are too immature to cope with anything other than milk at that age, so definitely dont give him anything else.

I have weaned my little girl from 4 months and she is ok, but depends on the baby I suppose. I waited til she was 6 months til I give her 3 meals a day, but now she is loving it. I make all my own purees and you know whats going into them. Have tried about 10 different jars etc and she dont like any of them and they smell horrible, so gotta taste bad for her, they do to me!!!

scrap all the coments that ur baby is to young that is a load of rubbish i have 2 kids and am a full qualified nursery nurse and a full time mum if your baby is still luking 4 food after bottle your baby wants more start of with a teaspoon of rice and his milk hope this helps let me know i weaned my 1st child at 8 weeks and it did know harm and my second baby at 4 mth on advice of her consultant
