WeaningWeaning - Homemade Rather than Jars?
Hi, I am giving my 6 month old baby boy home prepared food. He has lot of different vegetables and fruit in different combinations together with homemade cheese sauce and tomato sauce. He has packet/powdered breakfast cereals and rusks sometimes mixed with extra fruit. I did the same with my first child and when I tried him on a jar of food he didn't want to know. Are there added nutrients/vitamins in the jars that he won't be getting from fresh food? I made custard for my first child using formula milk and custard powder with no added sugar from 7+ months. I notice that there is some salt in the custard powder, would I be better off making my own using eggs which they can have after 6 months?
hi sweet
my 4 children didnt like the jars at all so i homecooked for them.
i also use reduced salt gravy for all the family which my youngest who is 15mths loves
i used this from 4mths old. tour child will be fine with homecooked food and you will
no what he is eating.
i also use custard powders and the tinned/carton ones from this age too.
my eldest child is 10 and he has been brought up like my others on my food.
have fun with diffrent flavours.
hugs xxxx
