the most simple thing you can do is to either continue to give him veg but boil chicken and meat and either crush it down small or blend (depending on how he takes his food) and add it to the veg OR heinz do a great cook at home sauce range which again you can add to cooked meat and chicken.

I normally boil cubed meat and chicken on the bone then shred the meat and add it to either homemade veg or a packet of heinz cook at home then either add pasta or rice to it to make it a more wholesome meal.

hi hun, im not much of a cook and hadn't really got a clue. i have recently brought an annabel karmel book called feeding your baby and toddler, it has loads of recipes in for each stage of weaning, highly recommends fish, but also has recipes for chicken and beef. it says to just cut chicken breast or beef into pieces and cook as usual, then just puree it all together. try www.annabelkarmel.com/recipes. good luck

loubird, ha ha, that is funny. i must say cooking the food is so easy (i tend to steam all the veg) but blending it all is a bloody nightmare. roll on him eating lumps! i have brought the avent blender which is much better, tried our home one and it started to smell like it was burning, never had so much use! i found the trick is to have the food quite moist, if its to dry it wont puree well, i add a little water out of the steamer to the veg and purees much quicker.

One tip is to freeze up smaller portions of all the single veg or meat that you cook and puree so that when it comes to mealtimes you can mix and match a meal e.g. take out a mixture of frozen bits and mix them all together. This way you don't have to stress about chopping up loads of different veg and cooking meat at the same time to do a batch of meals, you can just cook up and puree one type of fruit or veg or meat each day and by the end of the week you'll have loads of different meals that you can mix together from the freezer - just remember to label them up though...
