i am in the same situation, mt daughter is 16 weeks and i have strated her on babyrice for breakfast... she is happy with it and eats the lot, i won't give her anything else for at 4 weeks...

i started weaning my son at 17 weeks,he was drinking 8 oz bottles ever 1.5 to 2 hours and was still hungry lol,_i made the food up in avent bottle tops he started off on half of the lid then put it upto 2 feeds a day ,at 5 month he now has 3 meals a day

really for baby rice you start with say two spoonfuls and when eh manages that try three and so on. offer mil first then feed baby rice. also baby porriage is also great has some in mild flavour too i.e banana.
that how i managed it...with aoife in which its best to let baby guide you. if they clear there bottle and their rice..up the amount if they are not content and still hungry.

my baby is 4 months now and eat her hands blanket just everything puuting into mouth i think to start weaning and do not listen health vizitor all the time cos every baby is diffrent some need start at 4 months some babies at 6..

Well my little one has been weening rice since 13 weeks, only cause he would cry all day but only had 5 oz bottles every 4 hours couldnt mannage any more. he was refured to peads to check if he was milk intolorence but he was fine on hes milk, doc told me that it was reflux.........even though he wasnt beeing sick at all.........doc said this was a worse kind of reflux cause the milk was just sitting there and causing him pain and sleepless nights!!!!!!!!!!
Doc said when u start giving him solids he will be much better.......Now he is 17 weeks old and on three baby jars a day....and sleeps from 7pm till 7am and no more sreaming and sleepless nights!!!!!!!!
only thing is hes not keen on his milk botts just wants food and water i give him 2 5oz bottles one in morn and one for bed!!!!!!!!

And one final thing......... he is my sixth child, and when i had my others there was nothing about feeding till 6 months then!!!!!!! u do it when u think ur baby is ready!!!!!! and he or she will tell u when believe me!!!!
Anyways just ask ur own parents bet they didnt leave u till u was 6months old..........lol
The good old fashion ways are best never done us any harm cause were reproducing!!!!........lol

yeah theyve changed it all now but i weaned all my 4 early been doing number 4 for
about a month he is 16wks. you notice a diffrence its like their little face says thank god youve gave me food at last! my little boy is full of smiles laughing everything since starting solids. go with you instinct and what your baby needs. tehy are all diffrent . to be honest i dont think many people leave it to 6 mths. as post above says they will tell you when and
hasnt done mine any harm too infact ive havent had any of mine be fussy eaters.

Hello, i have been told of buy my HV for giving him a small amount of baby rice, he is onlt 3 mths old, but my god he loves it, when i dont give him any the milk is not enough he's on 7oz, should i stop?
