WeaningLumps!! Any ideas?
Hi i have twins and they are nearly 9 months now, i have put them onto lumpier food but i am strugglin a bit, they are ok with lumpy jars, like the pasta ones as they are quite soft lumps, however i do like to give them homemade more than jars but im struggling on how to put lumps into my food i make 4 them, my blender just whizz's it up to a puree is seconds. I have added those tiny pasta stars u can buy and they like them. But any ideas i would be very grateful to you! Also if i just mash up potato or veg they seem to not be able to swallow it as its to thick or something? xx
Hi, try mashing it with a little full fat cows milk, you can use this in food but not as a drink til they're 1yr old, that'll take away the dryness, as for lumps, when you cut your veg before cooking cut it into small cubes/diced so they're small enough for babies mouth, it is a pain cutting it up that small but i can't think of any other way, when i pulse the food in the blender it still ends up as a puree so i think it's best to just cut it all up tiny and cook it well so it's soft enough to break down in the mouth when baby chews it, when i make root medley i do this but i mash it briefly too so the bigger bits get squashed. Hope this helps, Sian xxx
