WeaningFirst Weaning Food
I have just started weaning my daughter, and am currently giving her half a rusk on a morning and that is all, how lond do you think i should wait unitll i introduce different food? and also is rusk a good weaning food or should i be giving her rice too? i just need some advice please help :S
hey, i started weaning my son a few weeks ago, and i gave him baby rice to start with, but he wasnt that keen, so i pureed some sweet potato and carrot an things like that, apple an pear puree is also good as a first food. u can introduce a new food every couple of days. im not sure if rusks are a good first food or not, sorry. hope this helps x x
hi when do u start weanung ?
hi coffie, guidelines say to start weaning at 6 months old. if your baby shows interest before then, they say 17 weeks minimum, signs can be, not settling after a milk feed and the extra feed you give if needed, watching you eat (but i dont count on that one as they are just watching in interest) taking your food of plate or trying too, can sit up unsupported and good head control, they make chewing motions with their mouth etc, you do tend to know when they are ready, but if they are not, do not try, they will tell you, there is no rush hope this helps xx
yes, there certainly isnt any rush and certainly dont do it before 17 weeks. yes, it can be hard to tell as as around 4 months old babies have a growth spurt and often want to feed more often (and may start waking in the night where previously they had slept through) and many people will mistake that as a sign of needing to be weaned when in fact it isnt. how old is your baby and are you getting any signs of ready to be weaned?
