WeaningFinger Foods!
Hi everyone, my LO is 8 month old, but has been eating finger foods since about 6 month and shes LOVES them. the only thing is I now coming a little stuck with what to give her.
For her tea I usually do her a plate of different things, and let her help herself. She usually has things like:
Organix finger food crisps
Mini Dairylea sandwiches
Slices of banana or grapes
chunks of cheese
soldiers (fingers of toast)
I would love any ideas of what else I can give her, my only criteria are it must not contain sugar!!! My mum keeps saying, get her a milky bar or some buttons!!!! NOWAY!!! Lol x
hi there, my son is almost 10 month,
i give joshua the fingerfoods you listed, plus i give him cooked carrot sticks, cucumber, mango strips, sandwiches with all kind of pastes or cheese spreads
he also likes raisins, dried figs.
by 8 month you can give your baby almost anything, obviously no nuts, runny eggs and things they could choke on.
joshua has only just got his first tooth through but he still has foods that he would need to chew.
i hope this helps a little.
sarah
Thanks Sarah, Megan doesnt have any teeth yet but she is fine with most things and definitely chews things, just gums them death hehe. Ok i might try her with some cucumber and carrot sticks, she loves carrot anyway so think she will be ok with that. If i cook some carrot sticks and put them in the fridge how long would you say i could keep them for? x
hiya vik, i'd say u could keep cooked carrot sticks 1-2days
i usually cook them on the day, usually whilst i make his breakfast...thats when i have more time.
lol i dunno how they can chew without teeth it looks funny haha.
mostly cooked foods last in the fridge for 24-48 hours - i guess it just depends on what it is. i would want to eat meats within 24 hours, but i guess veg would be ok a bit longer than that. x
I give my daughter cooked meats, my parents have a deli so its fresh and readily available at all times for her. But she loves, ham, beef, cornbeef, turkey. I give it to her as snacks or whenever really, she loves it, especially cornbeef!! Just be careful the ham or beef isnt from Ireland, they've found dioxins in the meat!! You should find that all supermarkets have taken Irish meat off the shelfs but if your gonna buy locally from your deli be sure to ask where they purchase their meat.
i do the same with my little one well not so little will be 1 30th dec the year has flown.. but j loves at the moment cheese on toast and i add ham and things to it like a pizza but on toast. and today he tried a tuna pasta thing with cheese apple sweetcorn bits and that went down well I love the way we have the same lunch we sit down together and munch away.. :o)
