Weaning

bottle to beaker ??

hi

can anyone tell me when I should introduce my lo to a beaker ? I have a tommee tippee training beaker but not sure when to start to use it, and if I should just use it for juice/water or her milk feed as well.

Any advice would be appreciated

cheers

Hiya, i started giving my lo water in a beaker from around 6 minths but she didnt really start using it til she was about 9months. The advice is to get rid of bottles at a year but everyone is different, my lo got rid if hers herself at 10months! She refused to have them anymore so had her milk in a beaker from then! Hope this helps hun, how old is ur lo? :)

Hi my daughter is 7 months and I introduced the tommy tippee training beaker at 6 months but she couldn't get to grips with it because she had to bite the spout instead of suck and therefore got frustrated. So about 2 weeks ago I gave her the nuby bottle to beaker trainer which is a beaker with the same sort of spout as a bottle, which she now uses for her milk and juice. It's great because now she loves to lie on the floor propped up on a cushion and feed herself and when she's full or finished she'll put it down and either play or sleep. So I'd go for it if I were you. My son who is now 3, I weaned him at 6 months using the tommy tippee beakers with the white soft spout which he loved and within a couple of weeks he was on beakers and feeding himself. I think the early you start the better it is for their teeth and it should be easier because as they get older they will become more attached. Good Luck :) x

Hi i started inttroducing my lo to a beaker from 4 months old but she was getting really fustrated because she couldn't ti[ it up far enough to get her juice from it. She is almost 6 months now and for the ast three weeks i have been using a trainer cup from asda (thier own brand) which has a soft spout which works in similar ways to the bottle and she loves this and can't get enough. I use her bottle for her milk and the cup for her juice x

i have just started giving my lo a beaker using a tommee tippee beaker not the one you have to bite as i found it too big for him so a smaller freeflowing one and hes flyin. i just leave it with him in his highchair, walker etc and it lifts it and drinks away. only out an oz of cooled boined water or cow and gate baby juice in it because it needs to be light enough for them to lift it up.

hi there, my lg is now 11 months old. She was drinking from a sippy cup from 7 months but gets herself and everywhere around completely soaked! I've since bought her an asda own brand one but it has a teet on it which means she has to suck on it like a bottle. Great for keeping her dry but im feeling guilty!! can anyone recommend a suitable one to try? if poss, plz post a link to a shopping website so i can see exactly what i need to get :) ta! x
