Can i give my son weetabix, he's 26 weeks old should only be 21 weeks but was 5 weeks early,
hiya i went to a weaning class a few months back set up by my hv and they advised use against weetabix as it contains salt,my baby is now 29 weeks old and i found that hipp organic do a baby weetabix and my little girl loves this for her breakie,my baby was born at 37 weeks, have a chat with your health visiter if you unsure about anything take care jo x
hi ya
i weaned at 18 weeks as my LO was not happy on only milk. i started with baby rice / porrige from hipp etc but now at 8 months he has ready brek / wheetabix / shreddies. common sense goes along way 20 yrs ago there weren't halve as many things to worry about and we all turned out fine!!! if in doubt ask a pro!
yeah i get your point that there is loads of do's and don'ts now,im a first time mum and didnt have a clue about weaning so was grateful for some advise it doesnt mean i have no common sense!!my mum had me eating sunday dinners at 6 weeks old,she thinks im mad half the stuff i do but hey like i tell her that was 28 years ago thinks have changed and things are more advanced now,i have read on the forums before about the debate about weetabix and think its each to their own,but personally for me the baby weetabix is the same price so would rather get my baby that than have something that is high in salt.your baby boy is older than mine and zoes,i only started weaning a month ago so my baby is just on the basics for now,i will be glad when she is on what we eat!!!lol
Thankyou for your replies, I spoke to my Hv today and advised against me using weetabix for now as he's having trouble taking basic stuff like veg rice and fruit etc, he's so different to my eldest son had no problems at all with him. My mum sounds just like your mum jomc, she used to give us everything they would eat, I was also told by my hv to introduce 1 veg a week when I started weaning my first son which my mum thought was absolutely rubbish. he'll eat every put in front of him, . hopefully the younger one will one day. Jomc if you want to e.mail my address is ian-mcdougall@tiscali.co.uk. I share the address with my other half, hope to hear from you.
