Travelling with your baby

Shall I work around the baby when I go away?

Me and my partner are going to scotland in december for christmas, the baby will only be three weeks old.
Shall I work around her go once she has been fed and gone asleep, get up and go straight away, hopefully she will sleep through the whole journey. 3 hours although we stop at carlisle for toilet breaks if she wakes just re feed her?

i would. i would get everything else ready so all u have to do is get her fed, changed and go. beware tho - u are likely to find that she is sick a bit more, as u arent really supposed to put them straight in the car after a feed, but in this case i would do it anyway. remember - babies cant be in car seats for any longer than 2 hours at a time so u must make sure u get her out and have wander round with her, but u may find if u r breastfeeding that she will want feeding in the journey anyway, especially if she arrives late - my daughter at one week old was feeding every hour and a half! if u r bottle feeding take ready to use cartons of formula (dont forget a pair of scissors) - they have been a life saver for me! x
