Hi sweet
to be honest my 4 could climb before they could walk though by one they were
all walking.
when mine went into beds they were walking (just) they were aged between 10mth
and 1yr and i bought those bed guards to put at the side that way the bed
was a bit more secure. i would think in a few months time your little one will be
walking as it seems to happen all of a sudden.
but i wouldnt let that delay me putting her in to a bed as its not worth buying another
cot another thing you could do is put her cot matress on the floor that way she
hasnt anywhere to go might seem a bit uncomfortable but it will solve a prob
and i had to do this between buying a bed and my 4th coming out of cot as he kept
climbing out the cot so for safety i put his matress on the floor and put a extra
quilt at the side.
hugs xxx

We put our daughter in a little toddler bed before she started walking. In fact she's been in it 2 months now and still not walking, tho is standing. We put a bed guard on the side and also put old cot mattress on the floor next to it just in case she decided to go climbing, but so far she has been okay.

Oh thank god i came across this post because my little boy is 13 months & i am due to give birth to no2 in 4 weeks! So obviously i want to get my boy into his toddler bed soon to get him used to it but was worried he was too young but after reading these posts im reassured he will be ok. He is always at the top of his cot when i go in to check on him & he looks so uncomfortable in there as he is growing so fast & he has just started walking. Thanks!x

my first 2 were in toddler beds before 12 months as they climbed out of their cots on a daily basis. My LO is 14 months and still in cot as she is really small and has not tried to escape it yet. Remember that once they are in beds you need to make sure stair gates etc are fitted. I had one fitted across bedroom doorway, so son could get out of bed, play with toys but not leave room and stuff things down toilet, fall down stairs and chase cat

Hi, my little girl os 14 months and only does a couple of steps. We have just started putting her in a bed (single not toddler). Its not easy to get them to sleep in it at first so put the cot mattress with your little one and just use it for naps. Good luck
