Fussy toddler

Hey ladies just need a bit of advice. My son is now 19months old and used to be a great eater but recently he has become so fussy. I have become very paranoid that he is not eating enough as it seems to be a lot less than he used to eat. Could you please share what your toddlers eat/drink in a typical day so i can get an idea of if he is having too little. Thank you in advance for your replies xxx

hiya, my daughters 12 months and she hasnt been eating as much as normal either. i wouldnt worry. just offer him the normal amount that you usually do, he'll eat it if hes hungry. holly hasnt eaten breakfast for 2 days, she has 6oz milk, maybe 2 spoons of cereal then doesnt want it. she will eat half a sandwich, a bit of cheese, sometimes a yogurt (if she wants it) and a few wotsits or quavers. she used to eat a whole weetabix, or half a bowl of rice krispies. for tea, she will have about 15 mouthfuls of main meal, 1/4-1/2 a little pot of custard or rice pudding, and a bit of fruit.
with her dinner she will drink about 4oz of water, about the same with her tea, and then she takes 6-8oz of milk before bed.

they will eat when theyre hungry, theyre too young to know how to starve themselves

Thanks hun its nice to know i'm not the only one that struggles at times to get a decent amount of food in their child. Its hard not to worry though...think its just a phase he is going through to see how far he can push me x

it is worrying, at around 14 weeks she wouldnt drink her milk. then as time went on she got worse, to the point that at 16 weeks, she would cry she was hungry, and then scream when i offered her milk, so had to wean her. after that trouble, and all the stressing and crying i had done about it, i taught myself to go with the flow. if she didnt want it, no point worrying about it and crying as it made her worse. today, all holly has really eaten is a bit of coup with a slice of bread, and some chocolate. made her a roast dinner but it took her an hr and a half to eat about 5 mouthfuls!
lets hope it is just a phase. good luck x

Aaw bless i just find it such hard work especially when u go to all the trouble of preparing a nice meal for them and i am 35 weeks pregnant so think what was the point! He had 3 full meals today and it feels like such an achievement but i have been really strict with him and i think he realise he had gone a bit too far the last few days and ate what he was given x
