Toddler talkNever leaving the house again :-(((
Seriously I'm not, took max to toddler sense halloween class he was great, had a little pumpkin outfit on and quite liked it, running round as usual, then he knelt down on the hard floor to pick something up and accidentally headbutted it, cried a little bit but not too much but it came up in a massive bruise on his forehead but he was fine. Then 15 mins later a little boy shoved into him really really hard and knocked him flying, backwards and he cracked his head really hard on the floor, I felt sick. My friend had an ice pack in the back so put that on but it must have really hurt him, he didn't fit or throw up or anything else that doctor tells you to look out for and he was ok 5 mins later but then got tired and grumpy and started having paddies so we came home. I haven't stopped crying since he went down for his nap, I wish we'd never gone now and every time we go out he either picks up something nasty or has a bump its just safer to stay in and never go out again :-(((
oh no! dont worry tho thats just kids, i cant tell you how many times olivia has bumps and falls in 1 day, the other day she was playing with her cusions and went flying and smacked her cheek into the edge of the sofa, she screamed so loud i thought she broke her cheek bone, i doubled in size, 10mins later 1 of her cousions thew a slug and it landed right in her hair, yukk it was all slimey :(
o sharon, its horrible isnt it.
there is always a bigger boy who knocks the little ones over.
that must have been really scary.
i was at the stables last year and my OH called to say riley had fell and his head was bleeding, id been gone no more than 5 minutes.
my dad spun the car around and drove rather quickly home, he had fell off abi's bed and bumped his head on the corner of the radiator.
i cried when i saw it and rushed to the doctors but he was fine. i felt terrible though.
like livvie leigh says it really is just growing up, and they will have bumps and tumbles, thats why we are the best at cuddles, only a mum can hug the pain away xxxx
Hi Nicola and Claire, thanks both I know they are bound to have these bumps but god the noise it made.
The little boy is only 2 or 3, he didn't mean to do it and his mother felt terrible! I told her not to worry but I'd feel the same if max had done it.
Nicola poor little livvie, I hope her cheek is ok now. My cousin put a maggot in my hair when I was a kid and said it would eat into my head and my brain - aren't boys lovely eh? I'm assuming it was a boy who threw the slug anyway!
Claire oh poor riley i would have panicked if there had been blood big time. And even after that he was fine, gosh they are pretty resilient aren't they. There is no wonder we mums go grey.
I cried for two hours lol, my hubby asked if I wanted him to come home so I said yes - he was on bike as I had car to go to toddler group and his handlebars nearly came off - he had to walk home. If he hadn't come home early he'd have been riding home at 7 in the dark and could have had an accident so he says that me and max might have saved his life! Max seems fine now but am taking him to docs in an hour to get him checked for peace of mind.
Thanks again guys, i'm turning into a bit of a drama queen lately xxx
glad hes ok, if i could wrap her up in bubble wrap i would!!!
Doc said he seems fine and just to keep an eye on him for next 24 hours. She was really good, checked his eyes, his ears for bleeding and felt his head. His ears are fine now too after his ear infection at the beginning of the week, so feel a bit happier now lol :-))xx
Nicola, maybe you should bring out a bubble wrap suit I'm sure we would all buy them! xx
hi hun sorry 2 hear about ur little ones accident but thats no reason 2 not go out my little boy is into everything plenty of bumps and bruises some of them so bad iv taken him 2 hospital but all the gp said was yeah i can see he has a bump but there nothing i can do somtimes iv cried and hardly been able 2 go and pick him up coz im so scared of wot il see but thats just kids rite now my son in jumping off the sofas onto laminate flooring god knows wot iv got 2 come 2 nite lol take care hun xx
Aww bless poor you and Max, he's been in the wars a little lately. I'm glad the doctor checked him out and said everything is ok. It's such a horrid thing when they get hurt, did the little boy who pushed him over get told off or told it was wrong? My step son Luke is so accident prone it's unreal. He has at least 4-5 visits to A&E a year and I'm amazed he's never been hurt more seriously. The latest was being kicked in the eye but another little boy on a trampoline and also falling down the stairs at his mums flat and landing in his bike. I hope your day gets better hun and that Max is ok! Big hugs xxx
Hi Lorraine and Ann-Marie, thanks for your replies, he seems fine now, grumpy but just normal grumpiness I think! I suppose there will be lots more bumps to come, I'll be a nervous wreck by the time he's at school I think! The little boy did get told off but he's autistic and he didn't do it out of badness, I think max just got in his way, his poor mum was mortified. Oh gosh luke does sound accident prone, falling down the stairs that could have been really bad.
Thanks, I'm gonna have a glass of shiraz after max goes to bed and might even get a pizza as I think I'm far too stressed to cook lol :-))xx
Oh Bless poor litle darling. hopehes feeling better brave lil max. xx
I remember the first week my daught went to nursery, she had two 3 accidents with the first 2 weeks, and came hom with an egg on her head and grazes on her knees. I wanted to march up to the nursery, hands on hips!!
xx
