Teethingteething baby refusing breast
Hi everyone, my baby boy is 7 months old and has had a particularly bad teething spell the past few daysI i have been combination feeding since 6 months but have found in the last few days he is struggling when he has his breast feeds but taking his 2 bottles ok, Its upsetting for both of us as i feel like he is rejecting me :( has anyone else had a similar problem?
if this is related to teething then he will find bottlefeeding much easier as he wont have to suck so hard to get milk and it will therefore hurt him less (some babies prefer to suck as a way of soothing, but obviously your baby is one who doesnt want to). dont worry, he isnt rejecting you, you may well find that once his teething settles down he may like to breastfeed again but you do need to remember that there does come a time when some babies wean themselves off breastfeeding in any event.
