Special eventsPOTTY TRAINING NIGHTMARE
my daughter turned 2 last month. she has been potty training since march and has really got the hang of it quickly. she always does poohs in the potty and at home she is basically completely dry.
but for some reason she point blank refuses to go when we are not at home!
its so frustrating. she tells me she needs to wee but when we go to the toilet she wont go. iv tried carrying a potty around, iv tried a fold out potty seat for the toilet iv tried sitting he ron the toilet but nothing works. i thought it might be because she doesnt feel comfortable in new places but she wont go at nursery either.
when we are out she holds her wee in until she is in pain and crying and it really upsets her and it upsets me alot too. it has gotten so bad that on a couple occasions i have had to let her wee on floor in the oublic toilets. on one occasions she was so upset i had to hug her and let her wee all over me. and then i had to walk through town covered in wee!! (messy). it now makes me never want to go anywhere because it very stressful.
i know she is still young and sometimes i feel like i shouldnt worry im sure she will get it in time. but then i do worry im not doing enough to help her feel comfortable. i dont want to make a big deal out of it or force her because i dont agree with that...
ANY IDEAS??
thanks x
she is very young to be potty training, so it is going to take her a bit longer to be comfortable with doing it anyway.
have you tried taking her to places such as friends and family houses, so that she has familiar but not too familiar surroundings and seeing what happens. i think really the only thing you can do is to keep trying. the older she gets the better she'll become.
thats a good idea thank you il try that! and i kno ur right she is very young so i shouldnt stress about it!
