Sleeping

Lack of sleep

Feeling so, so tired this morning! Arthur seemed to have been settling into just a couple of night time feeds and iwas getting used to a couple of sleep between them, until last night when he wouldn't settle til gone midnight, then seemed to go no more than an hour between feeds. Typical to have no sleep when we can't lie in as I have an appointment to register the birth this morning! I have to keep reminding myself that he's only 3 weeks old, so still early days. Just needed to take five mins to get my frustration out. Hoping I can get a nap this afternoon instead.

it is hard in the beginning and it is a massive shock to the system. the hardest thing when it was freya who was that age was that i already had an older child to look after so no napping! it does get easier though. they have almost constant growth spurts during the first 6 weeks so they do feed a lot but then things often settle a little.

I know exactly how you are feeling. My baby is nearly 7 weeks old and is waking every 2-3 hours through the night but isnt going to sleep until 12-1am :(. I am hoping he will soon start sleeping for longer x

oh dear, a sharp reminder of whats to come. My 1st daughter will be 3 and i have approx 8weeks to go until my elective c-sec. seriously considering not breast feeding this time, as i will be in the same predicament a l's mummy with a tooddler to attend to, so no naps.

best wishes LK
