My waters broke at 35 weeks and she was born a few days later after being induced, she then had problems breathing, either due to prematurity or an infection. She needed neonatal care for a week as she needed anti-biotics and oxygen. It was heart breaking seeing her with all the tubes, lines and monitors in the incubator, it was especially painful not being able to hold her when she was crying. She's been home for a few weeks (she's six wks today!) and doing just brilliantly and gaining lots of weight, although she still needs 2 - 3 feeds during the night and I'm pooped!
Does anyone know whether she should be reaching milestones of 6 weeks or 2 (due to her being born 4 weeks early)?
I'm just curious more than anything, thanks!

hi, my waters went at 35 weeks and i had a emergency c section as baby Lyla was transverse so was stuck basically. It was all a massive shock. She is nearly 3 weeks now and wakes every hour and a half for a feed, so i am shattered. She is gaining weight fast and doing well. She was born 5lb 5oz and was 5lb 12oz last thursday. I was wondering the same thing about her development.... ? Will she develop at the same rate as babies born ON TIME or will she be 5 weeks behind????
