Hiya, i had the injection a few years ago for approx 2/3years but then switched to the implant! I have since had the implant removed and now have a beautiful 7 week old daughter!! The injection is pretty much effective straight away but i was advised to use alternative contraception for the first 7days just to make sure!!! The only side affect the injection can give you is it makes you put on weight!!! Not all people but some and it made me put weight on!!!! I used to be a lovely size 8before the injection but when i went on it i went to a size 12!!! I am due my postnatal check now and i will defo be wanting the injection again!!!!
