My daughter is almost 5 months and is still sleeping in our bedroom, when should we move her into her own room? She is sleeping through the night and has been since about 6 weeks so we have been very lucky I just don't like the thought of her being accross the landing from us but I know she can't stay in with us for ever!
Moved first born after about 4 months and 2nd after about 2 wks, as it was upsetting first born and we just could not get any sleep with all the little noises they make.
As a I mum I would say ASAP, before she gets to used to the room she is in. Start by putting her in her room during the day for naps/then move onto nights, as it will be less upsetting for her. To help you, use a baby monitor so you can still here what is going on, we have one with a movement sensor, which sounds an alarm for non movement/breething - which will really help you (Tommee Tippee).
Good luck
I put my daughter in her room at 9 weeks it upset me to start with and i kept getting up to check her even with a moniter. now she's nearly 5 months i get a good nights sleep most nights. She has lots of mobiles and when she wakes in the morning we can hear her playing.
Hi
I put my son in his room when he was exactly 7 months old,,,,if I had my way then I would have him in with me forever but its for their own good and he is sleeping much better, I'm a nervous first time mum ( at almost 40) and I can honestly say its the best thing we have done. His room is next door and we have both doors ajar and can hear him if he wakes so I can pop in if he needs me,,,,,,,if she is sleeping through I say go for it !
