hi i had the exactly the same question and im due 11th jan but when i worked it out it was dec 8th.when i asked my midwife she said it was right the 11th of jan something to do with the cells devloping and people dont normaly find out till after a month after there last period.i found out at 2weeks! so its been a long preganacy lol

your scan will be the date you use as your due date. they are calculated through taking baby's measurements so are generally considered to be more accurate than going off your last period. x

id say the 21st december will be more acurate because i had the same problem. i worked it out to be a month before i am acutally due and im actually due 21st jan xxx

got my numbers wrong, due on 24th xxx

i have always gone by my last period for my due date, but my scan has always matched my dates anyway.
it does seem a huge difference for you ladies . its like they have totally written off 3/4 weeks of your pregnancies.
i know they go from the measurements of the baby, so if any of you want to put down the hc and fl and i'll compare it to my scan measurements for you and see how much of a difference it is.
if the sonographer that is measuring marks the lenght of the femur or the head circumference out by just a mm it will change your dates. the sonographer has to be bang on to get it right for you. if they are just inside the measurement, your baby would seem smaller (younger)

Am Sinead and i'm pregnant with my first baby & 12weeks 4days gone!.. had my first scan yesterday whihc was a little bit funny as the midwife had to literally shake my tummy for the very chilled baby to pose for it's pics. My due date is 16th Oct and my partner and me are both very excited and me a little bit nervouse!. xxx

hi there i'm 6wks pregnant with my 4th child experiencing extremely bad morning sickness,more like all day sickness.i'm due in feb 2011,so i have a long way to go.....troublesome journey ahead of me,got 6 more weeks of this sickness...then it should get easier i hope!anyone in the same boat get in touc with me...be nice to exchange views and just talk!
