Immunisation12 week jabs
hi all, my little one has her 12 week jabs today at 1.30 ;( , she was pretty good with 8 week ones, well screamed when she had them but pretty normal rest of the day. any experiences would be great to readxxx
Hi, my son had side effects to all his jabs - mainly fever for 24-48 hours which he got after them all, but after the 12 week jabs his leg swelled up on one side and he screamed in pain for 1.5 hours, it was awful the only way to comfort him was breastfeeding him to sleep. Apparently hv told us that the second ones can be the worst - and it was the same jab that he'd already had at 8 weeks in that leg - and their body kind of says hang on I've already had this and reacts to it. But my friends little girl sailed through all her jabs with just a bit of a high temp afterwards and nothing nasty, so your little girl might be absolutely fine with them. As I remember with the 12 week jabs he had them around 4pm and it was about 3 hours later that his leg swelled up, poor little man! Good luck for later - I always got my hubby to go with me and do the holding so he was meany daddy (along with the meany nurse!) and I was lovely mummy to give him cuddles after lol :-))xx
lol, dad is coming with me too and doing the holding, im sure all mums say it and worry about it but her poor little face and the cry that you know is her in pain cry is just horrible to hear. im hoping like last time she might be ok, dad is going round to see grandma later and dont really know weather to go with or play it safe and stay at home with her incase she takes it bad this time? decisions decisions!!!! lol
Ha nice one that's what the men are for obviously! I know its horrible but it has to be done doesn't it! You could maybe still go but take some calpol with you just in case, if she got poorly you could always come home :-))xx
yeah thought had crossed my mind, got the calpol, the temp tester on top next to bag ready just incase i decide to. thanks for your post. xxx
