just give him a normal meal but let him feed himself with his hands. olivia used to eat all her meals with her hands - occasionally she'd use a spoon, but fingers are just easier! i used to just give her a normal meal - ie roast dinner, macaroni cheese, egg on toast - and she'd just feed herself that way.

Hi my baby has been doing this too. I found it easier if I give her lots of finger foods she's confident feeding herself and then she lets me spoon feed her in between. She too is very independent and is eager to feed herself. We also play swopsies where we both have a spoon and I put the food on and then we swop. If that doesnt work I give her a toy to play with whilst I spoon feed her because if she fed herself she's never full but she seems to enjoy a bit of both feeding herself whilst mummy feeds her too!. hope this helps.
