Feeding problems and questions

Does my little boy need anything extra in his diet now he's started to walk?

My little boy is 12 months old and he's just started to walk. Does he need anything extra in his diet now he's more mobile?

At this important stage when Henry* is starting to get about and explore, a well-balanced, healthy diet is really important. Henry* will also be growing at an incredible rate, so to develop healthily he'll need all the nourishment he can get. A balanced diet with all the main food groups will provide the goodness he needs, and you can also give him a fortified growing-up milk, which will give him a good serving of iron and other vitamin and minerals.

I made sure that my little boy was getting a well balanced diet through these important stages (and still do!).He does have snacks of naughty things like crisps but I make sure he also gets plenty of fruit and veg.

my advice would be to give a little extra on the plate, if there is some left you know he is getting enough, everytime that bits is eatin add a bit more the next meal, this way you know he is always full!

As long as your sons diet is varied, and balanced, he should not need additives. More likely slightly bigger portions of what he already has may be more appropriate.
