growing up milk and cows milk?

My step son is almost 16 months but has not been drinking milk for about 7 months! Don't ask why its not my doing! His dad and I have recently tricked him into drinking the 1+ growing up milk but his mum is making a fuss saying that as she gives him cows milk in his breakfast and cooks with it he can't have both! even though that means he will be back to drinking no milk at all! Has anybody ever head such a thing as I have not for a child of his age. If its rubbish has anybody seen it written anywhere that you can have both so I can print it and show her. I know I am not his real mum and don't want to go against her but I would never let one of the children I gave birth to go without milk and feel so very sad that my step son is not getting the start he needs.

Hi. As far as I am aware there is no reason wht he can't have both. My son had both formula and milk and I was even advised by my health visitor to combined the 2 until he started drinking cows milk alone. I not certain but am sure I had a weaning chart from Hipp that said you could use cows milk for cooking and formula for drinking.

hi im helen i agree with the other lady my baby is 8 months old i have been combing cows full fat and formala milkfor the last two months and my baby is fine my health vistior said to that in his food but not to drink but sometimes he prefers to drink the cows milk and then i just cook with the formala so is fine to mix milk theres really no need to worry about you should have a convo with his mum and tell her about your feelings

HI, MY SON IS 18 MTHS OLD AND DOESN'T EAT VERY WELL BUT LOVES HIS MILK, TO GET THE EXTRA NUTRIENTS HE HAS A BOTTLE OF GROWING UP MILK AT BEDTIME AND HE STILL WAKES AND HAS ANOTHER DURING THE NIGHT, ANY OTHER TIME HE HAS COWS MILK WHICH HE LOVES JUST AS MUCH, THE GROWING UP MILK HAS SO MUCH MORE IRON AND VITAMINS THAN THE SAME AMOUNT OF COWS MILK SO YOUR PARTNERS EX SHOULD BE THANKING YOU!!! GOOD LUCK
