General baby health

advice please

hi, my 5 and a half month old caught a cold and chesty cough 5 days ago, she is fine and happy in her self, a little off her food but drinks milk fine, my concern is i thought it would get better but was going to take her to doctors tomorrow anyway, however yesterday and this morning you can hear the rattle and wezzing when she breaths and can really feel it when you hold her, should i take her up hospital today? and what can i try and treat it with? i have given her bit of calpol couple of times but if im not mistaken that is for pain and fever (which she hasnt got, was 36 last night) and not to actually cure anything. just wondered what others think and has worked for them, many thanks.

Poor little one, it may be part of the, cold, but to be safe its worth takin her to a walk in centre or ring out of hours gp. Just to make sure its not a chest infection:/ try and keep her chest and breathing clear though in the mean time. Boots own Vicks can be used from 3 months. Or put some proper ticks or olbas oil in a bowl of boilin water under her cot at night. If you have it or can get hold of it the calpol nasal spray or an aspirator. Hope some of that helps x x

i'd take her to get checked out today (if you havent already). my eldest had a cold and seemed to be a bit stuffy but the next day i could see her really pulling her chest in when breathing. she ended up im hospital and on a steroids and an inhaler to help her. it isnt worth leaving it if you are worried
