ChildcareNursery fees £1223.32 a month !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OH MY GOD
CAN YOU BELIEVE I WILL BE PAYING THAT TO SEND MY TWINS TO NURSERY.
THATS OVER 12 GRAND A YEAR !!!!
ANYBODY GOT ANY OTHER IDEAS OR ANY HELP I MAY BE ABLE TO GET.
IM MARRIED AND WE BOTH WORK BUT WERE NOT ON THAT MUCH MONEY
I THINK IM GUNNA HAVE A HEART ATTACK !!!!!!
do you claim tax credits? they have a child care elelment that can help towards the cost of childcare.
also do either of your employers do childcare vouchers like busy bees cause they can also help towards paying for childcare.
but that is a ridiculous amount of money!
good luck x
Now that is alot! I have been grumbling thart ours is £200 a month!
Childminders tend to be cheaper and quite often offer discounts for 2 children. Also all employers can set up a system where they pay your childcarer direct - so it comes out of your wages before the taxman gets to it! Apparently it saves about 30% so that will be about £360 a month for you! But your employer does not have to offer you this - but worth asking. My employer won't do it but my husbands will.
Or just become a childminder yourself and charge somebody else £1000 a month!
Try to find a council run nursery i have on in my area(essex) its lovely brand new bulding and its £4.50 a day per chilD including meals.
Im a trained nursery assistant and the money private nurserys charge is outrages.
Staff are on minium wage so i wonder were the money goes.
It's a good idea to claim tax credit as they help with childcare costs. That's what i'm going to do when my son starts nursery in March.

Hi there,
I 'm a bit confused with the help you could get from child tax credit side.I found a nursery next to where we live, it is lovely and pricey - 1150 a month for one child...
When i phoned HM Revenue office to check if we eligible to get any help toward these fees, they announced, that due to our income, which is 44000 in total, we are not entitled to get any help from them.
It means stay at home my dear, and take care about your little one yourself, otherwise you will be earning to cover nursery fees??? Ridiculous!!! Is UK country of full time mums?? Or i am missing something?

hi, all nurserys vary in prices, as a nursery nurse my self we at our nursery charge 34 pound a day for one child and 10 percent off that for a second child. but my personal opinion is yes its alot of money but we do an awful lot for children and parents, we open flexible hours, provide quality childcare and fresh home made meals go out on trips on a regular basis have picnics etc, and unfortunately alot of parents who dont work get places in nursery and they hardly have to pay a thing because they are on benifits! the parents who dont work are always late picking there children up and when at the end of a long hard day we want to go home we can't because they are late.this is unfair when most of us are up at 5 in the morning and dont get home till some times 7. i myself can not afford for my baby to go to private day care, because it is alot of money, for the money you spend you need to know that your child is going to be safe loved and cared for properly and u need to trust the people you are leaving your child with otherwise you may as well burn your cash now. i am supprised they didnt offer you a discount for two children! busy bees vouchers are a great way to save money on child care,
ps) if your nursery bills are not paid on time some nurserys charge you a bit extra
im in a proper tail spin.our bills mean i have to go back to work but we have to find an extra 500 from somewhere to pay for my daughters childcare.it will cost us 1000 per month as i have to work full time to pay the bills but how am i suppose cope with a measley 200 in credits towards the cost because we earn too much. it should be based on your out goings not on how much you earn.im really upset about this
which do i do bankrupt myself and never see my daughter to keep a roof over our heads and food on the table or do i run the risk of losing it all?
rock and a hard place much
I believe that the nursery's should cut the fees we have to pay they are far to expensive. Unless you earn a brilliant wage (how many of us women do) you cannot afford any nice things in life once you have a baby. Yes you have this wonderful baby but cannot afford to do anything with them because can't go work to earn extra cause can't afford childcare fees.
I feel so sorry for the staff they get paid minimum wage for doing a good job, the owners become richer & richer from us as parents.
I'm a childminder and i charge about 35.00 per day inclusive of meals for a 10hr day. Childminders usually offer discounts for siblings and take vouchers. I myself having another baby loose a place which will cost me £600 per month and thats until my child reaches 5.. so your not the only one's loosing out on childcare fee's. Basicly i'm paying myself my childcare fee's. And i don't get paid maternity leave, so it back to work for me a few weeks after the birth. I would look into childminders, we offer a personal service, i have looked after babies and i still look after them 8yrs later before and after school.. how nice is that for the child and the childcarer.
Hi
what area do you live for that price ?
That is cheap good idea might look into this i am not due back until ~June 08 but was not going to go back because of the price of nursey fees
