well, as you know, you should not experience pain when he is feeding. perhaps you need to get to your GP. i started noticing a pain when i was expressing milk for freya and it turns out that i have mastitis.

i had mastitis few weeks after kian was born x

right, so you'll know whether the pain is the same as that or not.

Yes don't leave it, get those antibiotics just in case! I had it twice in the space of a month or so I think, my friend had it quite close together too. Just watch out for sore red patches on your boob. My friend left it the first time and didn't see doctor in time and ended up in a&e on a sunday night with raging fever and was really ill with it. The sooner its treated the better. Feed as much as possible from that side, if you can feel a hard lump then massage it and drink plenty of water.
Fingers crossed its not mastitis but knowing your luck it could be! xxx

i hope it isnt mastitis. definitely get to the doctor.
i have been on my antibiotics for nearly a week and although the pain is easing the lump isnt getting smaller. i tried to get a doctor's appointment for tomorrow but they dont have any available so i have to ring them back up tomorrow morning and get one as an emergency. as i say, the general pain is easing but it is still so sore to touch - i am hoping it is getting better, but i am just dreading it in case it turns into an abscess.
