Night feeds

My baby is now 16 weeks and still getting up 3 or 4 times a night for feeds. I'm sure I'm feeding her enough during the day and at night so I'm stumped as to why this is continuing. It's really starting to get me down especially when I read about younger babies sleeping through the night. Does anyone have any advice please?!?!?!

Hi sorry no advice as my baby woke every two hours for a feed for the first three months and then about every 3-3 1/2 hours untill 6mths when he finally started sleeping through then he got poorly and his routine went to pot. Hes now 8mths and waking at least once in the night for a bottle. I too found this very frustrating as my niece is exactly one week younger and was sleeping from 8-8 from about 2/3months and also sleeps longer in the day hope things get sorted soon for you as the lack of sleep really got me down good luck xx

the average age babies sleep thru the night is actually 4 months old. i was very lucky, my daughter slept thru night from 6 weeks old, but i was bottlefeeding (didnt get on with breastfeeding) so i knew exactly what she was having during the day. she may just be waking out of habit or looking for comfort if u r definitely sure she isnt hungry. have u tried giving her dummy instead of feeding her when she wakes in night? maybe when she weans she will start sleeping thru night. sorry not much help really. x

i had this problem and she only started going through night now really and she 5 1/2 months and i found that topping up with formular at night helps as they sometimes they get enough through the day but sometimes dont get enough at there last feed but maybe do try a dummy as my daughter was sometime waking up for comfort and feed.good luck

HI. My baby is 18 weeks old. I am breatfeeding and bottle feeding. During the day she feeds every 3 1/2 hours. I have replaced her 2-3pm feed and 11pm feed with a bottle for the past month but she still wakes up once thought the night about 3am. I introduced some baby rice 3 days ago after her 2-3pm bottle and she loved it and every night since she has slept though from 11pm till 7am. So I guess my advice would be to try one of the following: introduce a bottle at the night feed and see if that helps your baby sleep through the night or when he/she hits 4 months try some baby rice. Something else I have heard that works is giving your baby some cooled boiled water to make then go longer between feeds or try a dummy.
Hope this helps and good luck
