BreastfeedingHelp - Baby wont take a bottle!
I have been expressing so that my partner can feed the baby whilst I work. We have tried a couple of times now and she wont take the bottle! Of course we can keep trying but has anyone got any tips?
when i switched my two from breast to bottle i had to go out and try all diffrent teats. the one that worked in the end was nuk teats and they match breast better then other brands i found.
Try the breastflow bottle (you can get them from mothercare etc) and make sure your partner gives it and not you so she doesn't want your boob instead. Might be a case of you leaving the house for a few hours and leaving him to it, and hopefully when she is hungry enough she will take it. Good luck!!! :-))xx

Hi I have had exactly the same problem. My little one is just 4 months and only had breast. Was due to in back to work beginning of feb but had to to put back because not taking bottle. Bought all bottles and teats you can get but nothing would work. Then one sunday movies in law looked after her whilst went out for dinner with hubby. Left bottles with expressed milk. When came back 2hrs later she had no joy. Emily had screamed the house down. When we got home decided not to breast feed her for the rest of the day just kept giving bottle. Then after tears at 9 pm she took bottle 7oz. That was a wk ago. Still being strictwith routine. I breast feed between 7pm to 8am then bottles til 7pm. She takes every bottle I bought now. Keep trying and when she is hungry she will take. It is hard but she knew when she cried I would always give in and breast feed. Now on wk 2 and she takes more and more each time. Good luck joe be strong ;-) x it is one of the hardest things I have ever gone through totally know how it feels.
Breastflow bottles are amazing we used them when my partner was feedin the LO and when he was 16 weeks old I only breast fed at night as he wasn't gettin the calories he needed from my milk. The breastflow ensured that he didn't forget how to breast feed.
hi i had the same problem with my son, i was told all sorts of things of changing teats, sit in different areas, for my partner to do it and me not be in the room. in the end we kept to the same teats and just percevered with it and he took the bottle when he wanted to. it did take about 3 weeks.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I get so upset over this my 7 month old will not take a bottle she just chews the teat and spits the milk out iv tried 5 different types of bottle but she doesn't change her mind! I'm so scared il stil be breastfeeding her at like 5!!!! Lol. She also has 3 teeth so it's quite painful sometimes :( does anyone have any advice? X
