just wanted to double check - when i had olivia i was told to not give water in between milk feeds. the only time they needed water was if it was very hot weather or if they were constipated. is that still the advice? i just wondered whether it has changed and that they should routinely be given a small amount of water as i seem to recall reading that somewhere. personally i dont feel freya needs it, but just wondering!
(oh, and she is smiling now!!!! time is going so quickly already! )

yea thats right they dont need it, roby was a summer baby and sometimes didnt want breastfeeding when it was too hot so he had little bits of water between feeds and now he loves his water.
wow that has gone fast!! aww the first smiles are sooo cute! :) x

My health visitor told me to put my hand on the top of damians head and if I could feel his soft spot pulsing it means he dehydrated other wise water is not needed. Hope that helps.

thanks. i was pretty sure water was not needed but i'll definitely keep an eye out for dehydration - mind the amount of milk she is putting away i think it's unlikely!!!
