Bottlefeedingnight feeds
my daughter is 23 weeks and she is still waking up at around 3/4 ish for a night feed! she did start to sleep through at 8weeks but started waking again at 18 weeks so thats when i started her on solids 3 times a day and milk feeds in between! should she still be wanting her night feed?
i would get her out of that habit. i think the books say that by 4 months night feeds are no longer necessary.
I think it is a habit now,,,,,,,,my LO was the same, so I just started giving him very watered down juice ( he won't have just water), only a few gulps and then he went back to sleep,,,,,,try that, or water if she will have it !
She will probaby stop bothering to wake for it then like my LO !

Hi. I was going to suggest the same as Jo, just give water rather than milk. Hopefully her body will soon learn there's no point in waking up if there's no milk. Apparently after your baby reaches 11lb in weight they don't actually need a night feed. It's just a habit by then which needs breaking. I bet everyone wishes there babies would sleep through at 11lb! x
Hi. I've just re-read your post. I thought your daughter was 23 months not weeks. All I said above still stands but are you giving her plenty before bed. Can you increase the oz she takes? My son (7 months) goes to sleep at 7pm but has his tea at 5.30 and then milk at 6.45, so he's full up for the night. x
thank u for your comments! last night i gave her some tea and a yougurt at 5:15 and then 9oz of milk before bed at 6:45 and she slept solid till 4 so i gave her a dummie and comfort teddy and she went back to sleep til 7,so hopefully that extra meal at 5 has madmade a difference and that she will sleep through from now on!
i have problem with my baby...she is 18 mounth and she dont sleep well at night....she wake up 8 times at night i dont know what to do...help please....
HI My son gets his milk at 8pm then bed, he wakes at 5am for 12wks is this ok?
sorry i ment for a 12wk old is this ok? would appreciate advice as returning to work at 6 months and would love a routine xx
Not been patronising but we are all doing fab, we rock !! give yourselves a good nudge xx
Hi jograeme if your baby at 12 weeks is going from 8pm to 5am I don't think you need any advice!! Thats brilliant! The average age to drop a night feed is 6 months, but if he is going till 5am thats not really a night feed he's more or less sleeping through. My son is 11 months and has only just started sleeping through, and he didn't drop night feed till 7 months and that was only because he started refusing bottles. And sometimes he still wakes up at 4-5am and comes in bed with me for last hour or two!!
So you are doing fab!! :-))xx
