Comfort milk

Hi there have a question? Our wee man is nearly 9wks old was doing so well on c&g1 after breast feeding. Past few weeks he has been cramping with really bad wind every 2-3 days I've tried everything from Colief to infacol and gripe water. Reluctantly I started him on comfort milk 2days ago he now down at least half his feeds and reluctant to take the milk! Oh what t do?????

Hi, did you go up a teat size when you changed to comfort milk? Its thicker than normal so they can struggle to get it, sometimes you need to go up two teat sizes. Did you use the infacol every single feed for at least a week? Its something that needs to be used before every feed as it has to build up in their system to work properly, you can double the dosage on it I think too. I used infacol with my son and it worked really well, I used dentinox colic drops with my daughter and that was good too (put it straight in the bottle) so if you haven't tried the dentinox might be worth a try, again its something you need to use every single feed for a week to see if it makes a difference although usually you can tell pretty quickly if it's helping. It might be a matter of finding the right wind remedy for your little man and going back onto the stage 1 milk, or you could continue with the comfort milk and see if that helps once he has got used to it and using bigger teats. If he's only getting wind every 2-3 days could it just be that he was struggling a bit to go to the loo? Usually wind is something they get all the time if they are windy babies.
Anyway a few thoughts there, hope that things get back on track soon! :-))xx
