so angry with health visitor!!

i took my son to have is 9 month check up with the health visitor this morning and it felt like i was on trial! she said she will be referring me to the doctor if my son isnt walking in 4 weeks time. he will only be 10 months and one week and she is expecting him to be walking on his own by then??????? every child develops at different stages i no but she got her chart out like they do and said he should be walking now. he can stand up if i hold his hands and stand up againts the furniture if i support him but this is not good enough apparently. does anybody no what will happen if i get referred to the doctor cause im actually quite worried about it now,??

hi luisa, my son also had colic it felt like it went on forever, i used infacol before each feed even during the night, it went on for weeks, what sort of bottles do u use, cause i had the tommy tippee ones and they are supposed to reduce the chance of them getting colic but my son still got it. i also brought those dr brown bottles they have special thing inside to stop the air getting into ur baby i tried them and i guess they helped a bit, but im affraid u really just have to go with the flow and see it out. but i would definatly recommend infacol i went though bottles of the stuff and it worked in the end. so good luck but just remember it does get better and a hell of alot easier!

Hiya nic_and_dave!

Thats so mean, i dont get along with health visitors at all, they all seem to want to put u down and make u feel so useless in the process. My lil girl is nearly 13 months old and not walking on her own yet so dont worry.... your son has plenty of time to walk. They wanna rush babies and seem to want to make them grow up too soon!! let them be babies for as long as poss i say!!

A STAND AGAINST HEALTH VISITORS WHO MAKE US FEEL THIS WAY lol xx

I'm sorry, but are all H/V a pain in the ___e? Don't worry...................mine has had my 9 month old son referred to the hospital twice now (for different reason), and he was fine...................I'm sure they just try to justify their jobs! Don't worry and ignore the old moo bag!!!
I agree with mumandchloe, let them stay babies for as long as poss!!!
Best wishes
S x

my daughter didnt walk until she was 14 months old, and my mates son didnt walk until 22 months, so your health visitor has no right saying things like that n threatening a referral to the drs, no-one referred my daughter, and no-one even sugested referring my mates son xxx

Hi nic and dave, pay no attention to what se said and if i was you i wouldnt bother seeing her again, if you need a HV get a new one. all my kids walked at different times ranging from 11 and a half to 15 months. you see they have a book on what they think a child should have achieved, ive always thought it was rubbish and i have been parenting for 20 years with 6 little darlings lol bless. All i can see about a HV is a power trip, they get to talk down to vunerable worried parents and you get to feel like S***. that power tripping in style. Excuse language, dont swear much. Take care x

He is fine my honey, and what he has achieved is good enough. How dare she tell you your baby isnt good enough. sorry but the more i read your anguish and worry the more angry i get. im not surprised that your angry, i would be fuming. your little one is unique, all of our children are, thats why we love them. dont worry, you are doing a great job, let him grow his way and enjoy, they grow up quicker than you think. x

HIya chick Dont Worry!!! , my lil one is 16 months and still not walking on her own yet my HV has told me they give them up to 2 years old before they do anything about it and ive heard from friends that their lil one didnt walk til 18 months. I was worrying as she's the only one not walking yet amongst her friends but realised they all do it in their own lil time. These bloody HV's sure there just there to get us worried cus our babys arent doing things 'by the book' !! & like others have said on here ur doing a great job so just enjoy ur baby now. take care luv lisa xxxx
