I have a five and a half month old baby girl. Her routine is great - she goes to bed every night at half seven and sleeps pretty much 12 hours. She has a feed every four hours, I have recently started weaning her and giving her tasters of puree fruit and vegetables. Lately though she seems to get really whingey and contrary. Im not sure if its becasue she is hungry or bored or what?? She has four 8oz bottles, but she just seems really fed up! She is not quiet sitting up yet so I place cushions around her. Today I sat down and was playing with her and some toys and she just seemed so fed up. She doesnt seem to sleep as easy during the day anymore, but even when she has had a good sleep she can still be in this same mood. As soon as I put her down or walk out of the room she will start crying....it is starting to drive me a little mad as I cant get anything done. Even when I want to get dressed I feel its stressful.
Am I doing something wrong, have I spoilt her??? Would appreciate anyones views

HI,I'm sure you are doing a great job. You can't spoil a baby, I have a little boy who use to sry a lot wouldn't be happy unless he was with me or an adult caring him around. I felt like I spoilt him but you can't love them to much.
I now put him in a baby walker, I know not every one likes them but it has been a god send to me as now I can do some jobs and he can follow me but I tend to find now that he is busy looking at every thing around him.
One thing I read about being clingy is to play games like peek a boo but you stand behind a door so they realise that coz they can't see you doesn't mean you are not there.
As for not being very happy is she teething?
I hope this helps a little. Good luck and keep up the good work

Hi Nic - thanks for your response. I know you are right about not spoiling a baby, but few people (relatives mainly) have commented if I happened to walk around the house with her in my arms that Im 'spoiling her'! Drives me mad as its not something I normally do!!
I was actually thinking of getting her a walker or something similar and maybe one of them 'playnests' where she can sit into and play with her toys without fear of her falling over as her balance isn't the best yet when she is sitting. I know it probably sounds very selfish saying I cant get things done, but it drives me mad when the house is a mess and I feel unorgainsed, but I suppose I better get used to it"! You can tell this is my first child LOL!!!
As for teething, I have though she may be teething for a while as everything goes into her mouth, but she seems to be doing that for a long time
Thnaks again

Hi New
I have a 20 weekf old baby boyl. His routine is not to bad - he goes to bed every night at anytime between 7.45 an 8.30 and sleeps till about 4-30 - 6.00 but if does wake up he wont go bk to sleep even though he's been fed, changed and winded. What can I do to sort this.? He has a feed every four hours, hes been on solids now since 30 Aug Lately though he seems to get really whingey and contrary. Im not sure if its becasue he teething, poorly which he's got a tummy virus at the moment of which my HV said it could tale 2-3 wks to go Dr saif nothing they can do he ok in himself though so is he just playing for lots of attention or being naughty.? He has four 8oz bottles, but he just seems really fed up! he's is not quiet sitting up yet so I support him. Today I sat down and was playing with him and some toys and he just seemed so fed up. he doesnt seem to sleep as easy during the day anymore, well without me pushing him in his pram which ive got to stop i thinkas getting a bit of a pain as you can be there sometimes for over 20 mins even when he has had a good sleep he can still be in this same mood. As soon as I put him down or walk out of the room he will start crying....it is starting to drive me a little mad as I cant get anything done.
Am I doing something wrong, have I spoilt him??? Would appreciate anyones views
