Baby development and behaviour20 month old won't sleep in his cot..... HELP!
Hi everyone, I haven't been on here for ages... so hope you & your little ones are all ok :-) Christopher is 21 months now & until recently has gone to bed at 7:30pm in his cot with no problems & mostly slept through! In November he was poorly & was admitted into hospital with Pnemonia... whilst in hospital [1 week] he slept in the bed with me, when we came home he went back in his cot but a few days later got another virus & became really clingy to me... stupidly I took him into bed with me & my hubby went in the spare room.... it's now nearly february & he's still in bed with me! We've tried to get him back into his cot - the last time was last night - I put him in his cot - he started crying before i'd even lay him down - & 10 minutes later he was still crying - I went up - laid him back down.... this ended up going on for over an hour when he climbed out of his cot, fell on the floor & hurt himself... at this point I gave up gave him a cuddle to settle him down put him in my bed & he fell asleep straight away.... now that he can climb out of his cot we are considering changing his cot into a bed.... has anyone else gone through this and what did you do?????????? Tracey x
My liitle boy has never slept well in his cot, at 11 months I was tired of letting him fall asleep with me and then moving him, so I put him in a full size bed, with a pull out bed underneath. I only have bed, wardrov=be and drawers in there so he can't hurt himself, with a gate in the door frame so he can'tshut the door. I had to lie down with him for about 2 weeks then gradually sat further away from him. It took a while but we gt there! Hope this helps Lisa x
He is 22 months now x
