Allergies and intolerancesmilk allergy???
hi wonder if any1 is going through similar that can help? my little girl is 10 weeks old and has a bad rash all over her, my gp said it was just dry skin and prescribed aqueous cream, since then my health visitor has said its eczema and prescribed different cream and bath oil, my worry is aswell as this her poo is really runny and ends up all over, however its not constant runs as its not several times a day or even daily and she doesnt seem upset or in any pain, does any1 know what to look for in event of a milk allergy, and r all brands not more or less the same? xx
Hiya i have 3 children aged 11,9 and 7 months. All of minehave had milk allergies.Patrick whos 9 grew out of his.Hannah whos 11 now cant have lactose, eggs or cows milk .Joshua Kai is 7 months he allergic to the following.Lactose,Cows milk,Lactose,Soya,Gluten and yeast.I have been pretty unluck!!!.You know if your child has a milk allergy from the following.1.Nappies become green/yellow in colour and usually go everywere 2.They will have very bad tummy ache and will be very unsettled.3.No matter what you try to do it wont work the pram, the car nothing!!!.Babies dont usually get rashes with milk allergies but Joshua did get a very bad rash when we found out he was allergic to soya.Hope this helps let me know what happens love carolyn xxxxx
just another thought,Maybe change your babies milk she may not like it or it may not like her if you know what i mean!!! love carolynxxx
well i have just been told my baby can not have soya milk products eggs ect and you will no that if your baby has it she never had a rash she was just sick up to 34 times a day and loose stools but if you are un sure then the best thing to do is take your child to the doctors and tell the doctor what is wrong with him and tell the doctor that you think he may have allergy to milk and see what the doctors say
my son is 17 weeks. he's had ezcema from 4 weeks old, we've seen 6 doctors, 4 nurses and 3 health visitors and got told different things! it wasnt until a really bad patch of eczema started to puss that we got listened too!! he's been to hospital they said that he may have a milk allergy so we've had to put him on neocate formula you can only get it on perscription.
Both my children have had milk allergies my little boy who was weaned back onto milk products when he was 19 months had severe reflux he was being sick 20+ times a day and his stools were really loose and dark green. My daughter has eczema and was taken off dairy and soya she's 2 and a half and still can't have either they flare her eczema up but also cause her to have sickness and dark stools, although her milk (pepti) causes her to have loose stools but not dark green. My advice would be to go back to the doctor and just ask. I remember one of the nurses who used to come to bandage my daugthers eczema told me not to use the aqueous cream because theres something in it that feeds the eczema we've found epidurm and fresh air whenever it flares up i try and let her run round in her nappy for as long as possible. Good Luck xxx
My son is now nearly 6 months old, he is diary intolerant, my gp diagnosed him with it at around 6 weeks, is symptons were he constantly cried in pain, lifting his legs as if he had wind, he had a rash all over his tummy and had very runny stools. He was originally put on infasoy then when we went to see the dietician at the hospital he was put on nutramigen, as under 6 months if they stay on soya milk they can become intolerant to soya. We saw the dietcian at the beginning of Jan and once he turns 6 months he can go back on infasoy as at the moment the nutramigen makes him very sickly. I would if i were you go back to your doctor and ask if you could be refered to a dietician or see if they will do skin tests for allegies. I hope you get sorted soon as it is very hard when you can't settle them. xx
