My son has finally been diagnosed as milk intollerant. He had runny nose, cough, reflux, wheezing, loose poo, bloated belly and mild eczema. We tried premium, comfort, soya, hungry baby and they all seemed to work for about a week then the symptoms came back. I had a bit of a fight with the GP but got referred and now on nutramigen (hypo allergenic milk). He is great now and to top it off now sleeps through the night. So anyone experiencing these type of probs go see the GP. Also as most GP's don't like being told whats wrong I suggest that you tell them someone in the family has milk intollerence and you'd like a dairy free trial. It's harmless to baby and may work for you. L
My daughter had the same problems, we tried all the milks possible, took her to and fro to the hospital on so many occasions where they tested her for urine problems, reflux and kidney damage. After a similar battle with the hospital i took her in despair to my female GP, who was wonderful ans suggested nutramigen. I changed straight away and could not believe the differance, no wind, crying, sleepless nights and worry, our daughter now sleeps 7-8 hours a night and is a happy bubbly baby. Its scary to think we were about to put her through invasive tests recommended by our hospital, even though we suggested she be tested for intolerance, we were treated like we were mad! I'm glad your baby is well and think that more mums should trust their instinct with their babys. Weaning will be fun, would appreciate any suggestions for good food suppliers, without milk, diary or egg.
My son is 15 weeks old and we think he is milk intolarance can any 1 give me the systoms i have had him to the doctors and the hospital but they just tell me its colic but we think its more than that we have tried differant milks and he has the doctor browns anti colic bottles but nothing seems to work can any 1 hepl

im in the same boat, my son has always been a bit snuffly since he was born, hes wheezy, but we were told that was bronchitus, and hes always had terrible wind. Sometimes he'll wake up for no reason and start screaming like hes in pain. weve tried nutriprem2(he was premature)c&g premium, c&g plus and now hes on comfort, which was great at first but now its like were back to square one.
I have suspected for ages that my son is allergic to dairy. He is now 7 months but is still very sick and we have to keep bibs on him at all times. More often than not he has a rash, suffers from eczema and generally is a miserable baby.
one of my twins has the same problem, several trips to gp with not much sucess, got to wait till march to see consultant. I now have her on comfort milk and gaviscon, i have tried to drop the gaviscon but it back to square one. endless crying and discomfort for my baby. I have a milk intolerance myself i am sure that this is the issue and not bad case of colic as suggested.
My son has been diagnosed with Milk intolerance and has got to avoid all dairy products and soya, he is on Pepti-junior milk which he likes but his poo is always runny. I don't know if anybody else has the same problem. Also if anybody has got any recipes for a dairy free diet it would be much appreciated.
i found reading this very helpful. Ive suspected for a while that maybe my baby boy might have a milk intolerance and he suffers bad from wind, and colic when he was younger. From reading this he has had all of these symptoms. I am now going to find out about paying to have a allergy/intolerance test. Thank you all very much
It took for me to go to A&E because Josh wouldnt stop crying for someone to think something was wrong. he's been on SMA LF since december, and it now turns out he might be intolerant to the lactose free milk, so now on neutramigen. He hates it and has to have Golden Syrup with it, but it was our health Visitor who made decision to change him. Much happier, can now sleep at night, and doesnt whinge constantly!
had exactly the same problem but hv finally suggested LF which i getting on prescription tomorrow hopefully so fingers crossed. got holiday in 3 wks so wont have hassle of making comfort with colief!!!
My son is 10 wks old and has been having really bad smelly poos which are green bad wind crying all the time a runny nose and a cough for about a month the doctor yesterday gave me soya milk on perscription and refered us to the hospital, He has already had 4 feeds today and after the 4th seemed a lot happier but the health visitor has advised not to use it and to get LF formula. really confused
