Hi
I have just taken a pregnancy test and it came back positive, I have worked it out and I think I could only possibly be 5 weeks pregnant. This is my first time, and I am a little unsure of what to do next.
I have made a doctors appointment for Friday to have everything confirmed.
I have felt quite faint for the past coupld of days and I am a little worried, especially when it comes to what to eat and what not!
Does anyone have any advise
many thanks
Hiya! congratulations hun, thats great news! what an exitin time for you. Me and my hubby were trying for 10 months before we fell pregnant with our now nearly 8 month old son, so i took a test on the day i missed my period so i was similiar to you in that i found out early on. The docs tend to take your test as conformation of your pregnancy as they are very accurate now.At the appointment they will ask you a few questions about you, probably weigh you and give you a little green paper file that you will carry around until you have the baby and some leaflets/info and then you tend to wait a while for a scan it was around 12 weeks for mine. As for food you can can't eat you could try lookin on this site im sure i saw a post the other day about what to avoid etc and loads of mums put lots of ideas on there. Hope that helps abit and Congrats again hun! really great news!! big hugs xxxx
congratulations! just take it easy for the next few weeks doc should refure you to a midwife. or thats what happened to me anyway the doc didnt really seem to know what to do with a pregnant woman he gave me some folic acid tho after asking me if i was intending on keeping the baby or not! that was about it. stay away from raw eggs shell fish uncooked meat pate and wash veg really well even the stuff in bags thats prewashed. i cant remember anything else about what to eat and what not to! midwife will give you the rest of the info you need tho. good luck hope it all goes well! xxx
