WORRIED!! pains could it be the start of slow labour?

im 36 weeks 1day, iv had waves of pains go accross the bottom of my belly where the babys head lies. it feels like period pains almost. its been happening since saturday its now tuesday, they happen every sort of 20-30 mins and last around 20 seconds, my belly also feels very tender/bruised and achy. its so uncomfortable. if im walking or doing something when the pain comes it stops me in my tracks. could any1 enlighten me to what this could be please :) thank you!! x

hi stephanie, good chance it's just where baby is creeping down lower getting ready, and it's putting extra strain on your muscles. also braxton hicks can get more uncomfortable as you get closer to your due date. make sure your getting plenty of rest and don't over do things, it's much easier to get muscle strain at the mo because of the hormones that loosen all your ligaments etc. if your really worried, give your midwife a ring for a quick chat and see what she thinks. hope this helps. katie:)
