Made it to the hospital this time!

Just to let you all know I had my little boy 4.30pm on Thursday. After my last birth being quick and unexpected, and happening on my mums wash room floor, I was living my last couple of months in fear and worry. As soon as I hit 37 weeks I was grateful to have hit 'full term' as my first was premature, so I was over that hurdle, now I had to sort out the quick, unexpected birth possibility?!?!? Hubby and I had laid off any 'hows your father' for the last 3 months as didnt want to risk another premmie and Thursday morning decided to 'refresh our memories'. Straight after the event I had lower back ache, similar to just before my last birth. I was also bleeding slightly, but put that down to a sensitive cervix aggrovated by sex. I was umming and ahhing whether to go and get checked out as I was scared of making a tit out of myself at the hospital, the fear of hubby going to work and the baby coming whilst on my own made me decide to go to hospital. Got to hospital at 9.30am, after Id got my mum to sit with the kids while hubby took me to get checked out. I was 6 cm dilated!!!! So, in my opinion, sex DEFINATELY gets things going! I dilated 6 cms in a matter of two hours! Needless to say they kept me in. Was given a birthing ball and bounced around until 2.30pm waiting for my waters to go, mw agreed that everything would prob happen fast when they went. Examined again at 3pm and there was no change, still 6cm, doc told mw to break my waters. An hour after my waters were broke 'Sam' was here. No problems , no stitches, everything fine, and no pain relief again! I must be really lucky with my labours. . Mission accomplished. Think Ive done my bit for the human race now, 3 babies :- 1 premature, 1 born on the floor of a barn, 3rd time lucky - full term and delivered by a midwife!
