By clicking the continue button, you’ll be able to find out more about Cow & Gate infant milks and our other products. If you choose to proceed, you’re accepting that Cow & Gate is supplying this information at your individual request for information purposes.

Breastfeeding is best for babies and provides many benefits. If you are a breastfeeding mum or mum-to-be who’s planning on breastfeeding, it’s important that you eat a healthy, balanced diet. You should also be aware that combined breast and bottle feeding in the first weeks of life may reduce the supply of your own breastmilk, and reversing the decision not to breastfeed is difficult. The social and financial implications of using an infant milk should be considered. Improper use of an infant milk or inappropriate foods or feeding methods may present a health hazard, so if you decide to use an infant milk be sure to follow manufacturer’s instructions for use carefully. Failure to follow the instructions could make your baby ill.

Infant formula is suitable from birth when babies are not breastfed, whilst follow-on milk is only for babies over 6 months as part of a mixed diet and should not be used as a breastmilk substitute before 6 months. If you want to give your baby follow-on milk before 6 months, you should consult your healthcare professional. It’s recommended that all formula milks are used on the advice of your doctor, midwife, health visitor, public health nurse, dietician, pharmacist or other professional responsible for maternal and child care, based on your baby’s individual needs.

Infant Milk for hungrier babies from newborn

As your baby grows they may still be hungry after a feed. If they're too young for solids, Cow & Gate Infant Milk for Hungrier Babies can help your baby feel more satisfied.

Cow & Gate Infant Milk for Hungrier Babies provides all the nourishment your baby needs when it's too early for weaning.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
We are making small changes to our labels. Our Infant Milk for Hungrier Babies will no longer have the number ‘2’ on the packaging. As a result, our Follow-On milk will now feature stage number ‘2’ on the packaging. But don’t worry, that’s all we’re changing – the formula inside and the rest of the range remain exactly the same.

Our Infant Milk for Hungrier Babies remains:

  • key vitamins and minerals
  • our unique blend of oligosaccharides (GOS/FOS)

Preparation & storage

Powder

  • 1

Wash hands and sterilise all utensils according to manufacturers’ instructions

  • 2

Boil 1 litre of freshly run water. Leave to cool for 30 minutes. Do not use artificially softened or repeatedly boiled water.

  • 3

Measure the required amount of water (refer to feeding guide) into a sterilised bottle. Do not add powder to boiling water due to risk of scalding.

  • 4

Using the scoop provided, level off the powder with the built-in leveller. Do not press/heap the powder.

  • 5

Add one scoop to every 30ml (1 fl oz) of boiled cooled water. Add the correct number of scoops to the water. Adding too many or too few scoops can be harmful.
